Sousveil
Alpha · in active development

Know who's watching the road

The driver's co-pilot for understanding police presence on the road — Google Maps and crowdsourced radar in one, with something no one else has: real-time awareness of exactly which police jurisdictions operate on the road you're on.

Currently in development — join the Discord or Slack to receive the alpha APKs and help stress-test.

The vision

Sousveil is being built to put the road's context in the driver's hands — who patrols it, what the law is, and where the traps are.

Know who's watching

As you drive, see which agencies patrol your exact spot and what their cruisers look like — marked or unmarked, colors, markings — so a car ahead is instantly "plausibly local" or not.

Ask out loud

Describe a cruiser to a voice assistant — "white SUV, gold stripe, says county" — and hear whether it fits the agencies here and whether you'll pass that jurisdiction on your route.

Crowdsourced speed traps

Cop sightings, hiding spots, and speed traps reported by drivers. When the same mile marker lights up over days, everyone gets warned; when cops move, the map moves with them.

Traffic-stop toolkit

One-tap background recording the moment you're pulled over, plus crowd-logged intel on whether an agency runs body or dash cams — surfaced right when it matters.

Know the law where you are

State-aware guidance: reckless-driving thresholds (e.g. 20+ over in Virginia), and how many windows to roll down for tint laws in the state you're driving through.

Radar + proximity chat

Uniden radar-detector integration feeding a live crowd map, and a proximity chat so a heads-up from one driver reaches everyone routing through that jurisdiction.

Yours, private by default

Everything you generate stays on your device unless you choose to share it. The map and the knowledge that keeps you informed are the shared part — your drives are not.

Today is the foundation

Nationwide jurisdictions, live detection, routing, and the driving HUD are shipping now. The rest is the road ahead.
